I am a 4x NYT bestselling ghostwriter & book coach, and this is the method in concentrate. The same thing I teach over 4 days at a retreat, compressed into one morning and served with coffee.
You leave knowing 3 things: whether the book is worth writing, which path it belongs on, and what the first chapter is actually about. Most people arrive certain about all 3 and leave having changed their mind on at least one.

A room this size. Everyone gets airtime.
What actually happens
Hour 1 — Is this book worth writing?
The validation question, done properly. I will tell you straight, including when the answer is no, or not yet, or that is 3 books and you have picked the wrong one first. Nobody thanks me for that in the moment. They thank me about a year later.
Hour 2 — Which path, and the framework
Traditional, hybrid, self. What each one actually costs you and what it actually gets you in 2026, not in 2016. Then I open up the Storytelling Framework and we start it together. 3 hours does not finish it. You will leave with the spine.
Hour 3 — Your book, out loud
Everybody in the room gets time on their own book. 10 chairs means 10 books, and I ran this format for a room in Ottawa, so I know exactly how long that takes. You say the book out loud, I tell you what is actually there, and the whole room learns from both. This is the hour people write to me about afterwards, usually starting with “holy sh*t, I have been writing the wrong book.”
People who did the short versionand what it actually did
“I finally got to attend a full day session with her and get a taste of her methodology and coaching, and it was SO VALUABLE.”
“Crystal helped me gain meaningful clarity on moving forward with my book despite the highly personal and emotional subject matter.”
Who should be in the room
- You have a book in your head and no idea whether it is any good.
- You have 40,000 words and no idea which ones matter.
- You have been about to start for longer than you would like to say out loud.
- You run something, you know something, and people keep telling you to write it down.
You do not need to have written a word. Empty-handed works. I have started more books from a blank page than from a draft.
