Most people think a book earns royalties. Royalties pay for dinner. What changes your life is everything the book gets you invited to: the stage, the client, the deal, the bulk order, the foreign edition, the room you’d never have been let into otherwise.

The Author Empire Quiz maps which of those doors are actually yours, what they could be worth over 3 years, and the order I’d open them in. Every number uses publishing-industry averages, and it says so. It’s possible to earn more or less depending on effort, opportunities and choices.
